Microblading

Microblading is a tattooing technique that uses a small disposable blade to create strokes that resemble eyebrow hairs. This specialized technique will give you natural looking, full brows. The procedure allows you to correct, or completely recreate your brows. This technique deposits pigment into the skin, using a hand tool that creates small paper cut-like scratches. All pigments are expertly chosen to match your hair and skin color, flawlessly blending into any existing hairs.

The results typically last from 1 – 3 years, but will vary from person to person. Factors that affect this include: pigment type (the lighter the color, the faster it will fade), sun exposure, products used on the face (retinols, creams, etc.) and age. Each skin type will hold pigments differently and will fade at different rates, therefore there is no one answer to this question.

First appointment: 2 – 2.5 hours

A majority of the initial appointment is spent mapping out the brows and tailoring to the facial features. The actual procedure takes about 30 – 45 minutes.

Topical numbing cream will be applied prior to the application and this greatly desensitizes the area, making the procedure painless. Most clients only feel light pressure or scraping. Every step will be taken to assure you are as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure. However pain tolerance varies from person to person.

All initial sessions require a touch up appointment within 90 days. It takes two procedures to achieve the desired effect and for the procedure to be complete. This is the session where I will evaluate how the pigment has healed in your skin and make any adjustments accordingly. The goal is to achieve natural brows, in order to achieve this, I am more conservative with shape and color at the initial appointment. The touch up appointment is where we can go bigger or darker, if that's what you desire, it is also where I can reinforce the already healed hair strokes.

Please note: Be sure to book your follow up appointment within 90 days, otherwise you will be charged the annual touch up fee.

It is recommended to book an annual touch up about every 6 – 18 months or when brows are between 40% – 70% faded away.

Redness and swelling around the treated area is normal and will typically be gone within 24 hours. After the appointment the pigment in the skin will oxidize and the brows will appear darker and warmer (sometimes may appear redder) then how they initially looked, this is expected and totally NORMAL.

Around day 3 – 4 the skin in the treated area may begin to scab and flake, this is normal. Please do NOT pick, pick or rub, as it may result in scarring or loss of pigment. The Brows may appear patchy until the brow has completely finished healing. Once the flaking has stopped, typically this is around day 10, the brows will appear much lighter… This is ok! Over the next 4 – 6 weeks the pigment will return to the skin and its healed color and the brows should be fully healed.

If there are areas that suffered from loss of pigment we can address them at the follow up appointment.
